Celestis Memorial Spaceflight
One of the most profound ways to honor and celebrate a loved one – becoming one with the cosmos – is now possible through Celestis Memorial Spaceflight Missions.
Since 1997, we have helped families from all walks of life commemorate those we love in a way that reaches deeply into human experience and imagination.
What we've imagined is a reality, surprisingly affordable and easy to arrange. You can send a portion of your loved one's cremated ashes, or your own, into near-space or far beyond on a rocket launch.
"It's a dream come true, and without Celestis, we wouldn't have been able to provide that dream for our father. It's an incredibly rewarding experience we'll take with us for the rest of our lives."There are four spaceflight options for you to choose from, allowing you to tailor the experience to your final wishes and budget:
– The Wirth Family, New Frontier Flight, Celestis 11
- Earth Rise: Ashes are launched into space, then returned to the family as a keepsake.
- Earth Orbit: A flight capsule carries ashes into Earth's orbit indefinitely, eventually re-entering our atmosphere and vaporizing like a shooting star. Celestis will notify your family when the re-entry is expected.
- Luna: A flight capsule launches ashes into lunar orbit or places them on the lunar surface.
- Voyager: A flight capsule containing ashes is launched into deep space for eternity.
Families will be invited to take a tour of the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida or Spaceport America in New Mexico and see the rocket that will take the cremated remains into space, meeting others who are sharing the Celestis memorial experience.
Our funeral advisors will guide you in planning memorial spaceflight services now in order to protect against future price increases and ensure your final wishes are honored.
