

Virginia Lee (Saylor) Fishel went to her forever home with the Lord on November 9, 2024, after a full, blessed life of almost 92 years, reunited with her sweetheart Leroy.Virginia was born in Johnson City, Tennessee on November 30, 1932 to parents Jennair and Nancy Saylor. She graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City, class of 1951. She then attended Johnson Bible College (now Johnson University) in Knoxville.
In 1957, Virginia took a job as Youth Director at First Christian Church in Fort Myers, Florida where she met the love of her life, Leroy Harry Fishel, an air force veteran and airplane mechanic. They were married on June 27, 1958. They moved to West Palm Beach, where they raised 2 children, Linda and David.
Virginia was a loving wife and mother, and a compassionate friend to anyone in her path. She “didn’t know a stranger”, and spread the love of Jesus to everyone she met with kind words and gifts. She loved music, particularly acapella groups, and sang in church choirs for many years. She retired from the Palm Beach County School Board after 30 years as an administrative secretary.
Virginia and Leroy also served with Feed the Hungry food pantry, and she supported Leroy’s involvement in Missionary Flights International (MFI). They lived in West Palm Beach for over 50 years before moving to Columbus, Ohio in 2013 where they enjoyed the variety of seasons, and daughter Linda aided and
cared for them in their twilight years. Virginia had selflessly cared for Leroy as he suffered from Parkinson's Disease until his passing in December 2022.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Jennair and Nancy Saylor, and her husband Leroy Fishel. She is survived by daughter Linda (Chris) Lundquist, grandsons Nathan (Whitney) and Weston (Hannah) Lundquist; son David (Michelle) Fishel, grandchildren Ryan (Kristy) Fishel, Tim Fishel, Taryn Fishel and Noah Fishel; plus delightful great-grandchildren Ruth, Emery and Bear, Wren and August, Zoe and Kali, Brooklynn, Brylee and Bristol.
A Celebration of Life/Birthday gathering will be held at the home of Linda (Chris) Lundquist on Saturday, November 30, from 4pm-7pm in Hilliard Ohio at: 3699 Skipstone Place, Columbus OH 43221. (Hors d'oeuvres provided)

An inurnment ceremony for both Virginia and Leroy will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 SR-7 S, Lake Worth, Florida 33449 at a later date.
