Timothy James McIntyre

Timothy James (Tim) McIntyre, 79 years old, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2026. He was born on August 18, 1947, in Florence, Alabama, to William Lee McIntyre and Eunice Pearl Smith McIntyre.

Life and Legacy

Tim grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Shades Valley High School and Auburn University. He earned his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Baldwin Wallace College. He built a career as a credit cash manager in the steel industry.

He loved sports, was a notable athlete in high school, and loved watching his Auburn Tigers play football. He also loved movies and listening to music, especially The Beatles.

He greeted everyone with kindness and a smile and loved to laugh with others. He was a dedicated husband and father who loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cynthia McCracken McIntyre, and their children, Jennifer Gardner (Jason), T.J. McIntyre (Melissa), and Katie Duffey (Trey). He is also survived by his brother, William McIntyre (Pam) from Bellville, Wisconsin. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

• Graveside Service: Saturday, October 3, at 1 pm, CST, at Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham, Alabama.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, located at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or online at https://www.stjude.org/. Donations in his memory will support children’s cancer treatments and research.

The family extends sincere heartfelt thanks to the staff of Aspire Recovery Center in Hoover, Alabama, for the warm and loving care provided during Tim’s final days.
