He is predeceased by his devoted wife of 59 years, Karen (Adcock) Lombardo, his sisters Janet Hernandez and Barbara Gleason, and his parents.
Thomas shared a remarkable life with Karen, whom he married on November 20, 1965, in Newton, Massachusetts. Their enduring partnership was filled with love, laughter, and a shared passion for life. Together, they created a family that was the center of Thomas's world. He is survived by his brother Carl Lombardo; his daughters Michelle Lombardo and Diana Rodriguez; his son-in-law Oscar Rodriguez; and his adoring grandchildren, Victoria, Alexandra, Anthony, and Thomas Rodriguez.
Thomas's dedication to his country was evident through his service in the United States Navy, where he served proudly during the Cuban Missile Crisis aboard the USS RICH, DD-820. After his military service, he took on a career with the United States Post Office, where he worked for many years, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends. In his spare time, Thomas was a passionate referee and umpire, engaging with his community through sports.
A man of many talents, Thomas was a jack of all trades, always tinkering and fixing things around the house or taking a walk around the neighborhood. His quick wit and humor were well-known, and he never missed an opportunity to share a joke or bring a smile to someone's face. Thomas was also an avid golfer and dancer, and he cherished the countless memories made at the family’s summer home in Maine with Karen by his side.
The family has chosen to honor Thomas with a celebration of life at The Farway Villages, Largo, Florida where they resided, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, they kindly suggest donations be made to the alzheimer's foundation (Alzfdn.org) in Thomas's memory.
Thomas's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have reached out with condolences and support during this difficult time. His legacy of love, laughter, and service will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
