Robert (Bob) W. Kussy, of South Weymouth, formerly of South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on March 8th. He was beloved by many and is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Linda Nelson Kussy; his cherished children, Robert Kussy Jr. and Elizabeth Kussy Mullen, and his son-in-law, Sean Mullen; his adored grandchildren, Cameron Kussy, Jack Mullen, and Ruby Mullen; and his nephew Joseph Brookfield. Bob was the dearest son of the late Walter and Josephine Kussy, and a treasured brother to the late Joanne Sampey.
Bob’s greatest joy was always his family. He reveled in family gatherings, traveling to be with his loved ones, and making memories with his children, grandchildren, cousins, and friends. Known for his quick wit (with a distinctly Boston flair) and his ever-present kindness, Bob was a constant source of support, always ready to lend a hand. His legendary skills in building and fixing just about anything earned him a well-deserved reputation as the go-to guy for any project.
Bob and Linda shared a deep pride in creating warm, welcoming homes, always leaving a lasting, positive mark wherever they lived. Throughout the years, their home was never complete without a beloved dog, and top of the list was his loyal companion, Spanky, with whom he is now reunited.
Bob leaves behind a remarkable legacy defined by his love, dedication, and unwavering support for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, Bob would welcome donations to the NVNA Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham or to any animal shelter, near or far.
A funeral service will be held at Resurrection Church in Hingham at 11:00 AM on April 4th. Following the service, friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Bob’s life at the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham. The open house gathering will take place from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM in place of a formal wake, welcoming all who wish to attend.
