Pamela was surrounded by love in her final moments, with her two children, Cameron Willey of Newbury, Massachusetts, and Emily Willey of Hingham, Massachusetts, by her side. They loved her dearly and will carry her legacy with them for the rest of their lives.
In addition to her children, Pamela is survived by her beloved dog, Duke; her loving mother, Priscilla Collett; her sister, Rebecca Butler; her nephew, Christopher Butler; and her niece, Lauren Butler. She was predeceased by her father, Dale Collett, who passed away in 2013.
Pamela grew up in Rhode Island and attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing. She was also a member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society. A lifelong learner and passionate healthcare advocate, Pamela took great pride in contributing to medical research and became a published author in the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology early in her career. She went on to serve as a Nurse Practitioner for more than twenty years, a profession she loved wholeheartedly and to which she devoted herself completely.
Her dedication to helping others extended far beyond her professional career. Pamela loved teaching and mentoring, serving as a Preceptor at the University of Massachusetts Worcester Graduate School of Nursing and tutoring nursing students as they prepared for their board examinations. She also volunteered her time to support those around her whenever she could. Whether caring for patients, guiding future nurses, or helping a friend in need, Pamela lived a life centered on service. Everywhere she went, she sought to make a difference.
Of all the roles she held throughout her life, Pamela's favorite was being a mother. She adored her two children and took immense pride in the people they’ve become. Her daughter, Emily, is a Talent Acquisition Consultant supporting pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and her son, Cameron, followed in his mother's footsteps and became a Registered Nurse. Few things brought Pamela more joy than talking about her children and celebrating their accomplishments.
Pamela will be remembered by friends and loved ones for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and vibrant spirit. She had a zest for life, a love of adventure, and a remarkable ability to bring energy and laughter wherever she went. It seems everyone who knew her has a "Pam story", a memory that still brings a smile. She was a loyal and devoted friend who saw the best in people and inspired them to see it in themselves.
Pamela loved music and cherished time spent outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, hiking, kayaking and relaxing by the ocean. She was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan who faithfully followed the Patriots, Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox.
