Mary Theresa Shaughnessy

Mary was a beloved mother, cherished sister, and loving aunt known for her warm spirit, contagious smile, and her profound authenticity.

She spent her childhood in Braintree, MA before raising her three children in Epping, NH.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret (Eugene) Shaughnessy, and her brother, John Shaughnessy.

She is survived by her former husband, John Walsh, and their sons, Kenneth Walsh (Meaghan); Michael Walsh; and John Michael Walsh Jr. Her love for her sons was immeasurable.

Mary was a proud sister and leaves behind a large, loving extended family. She is survived by her siblings: Maurine Shaughnessy, Michael Shaughnessy, Gerald Shaughnessy (Patricia), Margaret McPeck (Raymond), Julia Noonan (Thomas), and her sister-in-law, Virginia Spinale.

Mary was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews, including Lisa Adams (Kenneth) and Patricia Sanden (Christopher).

Mary had many friends and was an active member of her community. She enjoyed crafting and painting, taking long walks, and dancing. She was also dedicated to lifelong learning.

Mary will be remembered for her resilience, her wonderful sense of humor, and her unforgettable laugh.

Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Memorial service is scheduled at Deware Funeral Home, 576 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02170 on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 12-2pm.
