Mae Bell Henry

Mrs. Maybelle (Maebell) Myers Henry, 88, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2023, at 2:15 a.m. at her home in Boston, Massachusetts, after battling dementia with her great-niece LaRay by her side.

Maybelle was born September 23, 1934, in Florence, South Carolina, to the late John and Nora Myers. Her sisters, Letha Mae Williams and Bertha Lee Whitaker, her brother, John Myers Jr., and her husband predeceased her.

Maybelle and her husband, William Henry, started their journey by moving to New York and Boston, Massachusetts.

Maybelle worked numerous jobs, including Raytheon, Gillette & Filene's Basement.

Maybelle became a devoted Jehovah's Witness on July 2, 1983, and loved her spiritual family. She touched many people in many ways. Her interests included preaching Jehovah's word and spending time with family and friends.

Maybelle was dedicated to her family by caring for her sister Bertha Lee Whitaker's children after her passing away: nephew Reginald (Velena) Whitaker, niece Kimberly (Rotimi) Olusanya, niece Vanessa Whitaker, Debra Ann Whitaker (deceased) and Mark Whitaker (deceased).

Maybelle will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, grand-aunt, great-great-aunt, and friend.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Kingdom Hall, 301 Washington Street Dorchester, MA 02121, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, @ 4 p.m., following a burial of Maybelle's ashes at Mt. Hope Cemetery with her husband, William Henry.
