Ken graduated from Braintree High School in 1974. He worked in real estate and as a contractor. Ken was an avid sailor all of his life and loved to be out on the ocean sailing. Ken battled esophageal cancer courageously for 10 months, continuing to work and be active even while receiving chemotherapy treatments. He adopted all of his three children, including Ryan who is just 17 years old. He loved his children dearly and referred to himself as a “Dauntless Warrior” as he fought to survive as long as he could for them. His battle ended much sooner than he hoped.
Ken is preceded in death by his father Robert Blake, his mother Lorraine Blake, his brother Russ Blake, and his aunt Joan Hawksworth.
He is survived by his children: Nathan Blake-Zweber, Emily Blake-Zweber, and Ryan Blake, all of Rockland, Massachusetts. He is also survived by his brother Larry Blake of Victoria, Minnesota, his sister Cindy Blake of Marshfield, Massachusetts, his sister Marcia Cunningham of Littleton, Colorado and his brother Bob Blake of Stoughton, Massachusetts.
A memorial service with details to be shared later.
The family has also set up a GoFundMe account to help expenses for the children; the GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ensuring-stability-for-ken-blakes-children-bxnv8
