Kathleen McCarthy

Kathy worked for many years as a Supervisor of the Machine Operators at Gillette, where she was known for her dedication, steady leadership, and strong work ethic.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Amy Lombard, and her sister, Claire.

Kathy was a loyal and loving mother to her sons, Keith and his wife Samantha of Weymouth, MA, and Scott and his wife Cailyn of South Boston, MA. She was a devoted Grammy to her beloved grandchildren: Donovan, Saoirse, Kellen, Emerson, and Kennedy Joyce. She was also deeply cherished by her siblings—Peggy; Mary and her husband Bobby; and Paul and his wife Liz—as well as by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom treasured her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

She found joy in simple moments—lunches with her sisters and her beloved bingo nights. She also valued her years living in Florida and the many memories she made with her friends.

The family also extends their heartfelt gratitude to the South Shore Critical Care Unit staff for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to Kathy in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Monica Church in South Boston at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 19, 2025.
