Karen Sue Greer

A graduate of California University of Pennsylvania (1967) and Pennsylvania State University (1972), Karen, like her husband, Ray, dedicated her career to special education as a teacher and administrator. Her career began in Flint, Michigan, in 1967 and continued in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, beginning in 1969. She eventually joined the Council Rock School District in Newtown and Holland, Pennsylvania, where she spent more than 35 years as a passionate advocate for special education students as both an educator and administrator.

During retirement, Karen and Ray enjoyed traveling the world on cruises and exploring the United States in their RV. Karen especially cherished time with her beloved grandchildren. She also enjoyed leading book clubs, participating in Bible studies, reading extensively, cooking, and gardening.

A significant part of Karen’s retirement was devoted to her continued leadership of the mission work of Lenape Valley Church in New Britain, Pennsylvania. Karen spent over 30 years as the Chair of the Mission Committee at LVC. Her heart for the Great Commission inspired her to develop and lead numerous church-based programs, including over 30 projects for “Church Has Left the Building,” “Cradle of Hope,” “Urban Promise,” and “20,000 Meals.” Through these efforts, Karen touched countless lives and demonstrated her deep commitment to serving others.

Karen leaves behind her devoted husband of 59 years, Raymond Baker Greer; her two children, Nathaniel Baker Greer of Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and his wife, Tricia, and Alyson Greer Espinosa of Framingham, Massachusetts, and her husband, Allan; and six beloved grandchildren: Samuel Nathaniel, Jacob Michael, Leah Elizabeth, and Anna Grace Greer; and Calvin Baker and Evelyn Rose Espinosa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support the mission work of Lenape Valley Church in New Britain, Pennsylvania. Karen was a pivotal presence and leader in the mission ministry at LVC.
