Judith E. Carey

Judith (Judy) Elaine (Pedersen)Carey passed away on May 14th, 2023 at the age of 75 in Weymouth, MA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in September 1947 in Boston, MA to the late William N Pedersen and Martha Pedersen.

Judy was a smart, witty, and loving mother who cherished her time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing guitar and helping to lead the Children’s Choir and Folk Masses for Saint Bridget’s Church in Abington and Resurrection Church in Hingham for many years. Judy was also an avid golfer playing in several women’s leagues and spent summers on the lake in Maine with her grandchildren.

Judy worked many good years and retired from South Weymouth Savings Bank. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Robert Carey Sr, her son Robert Carey Jr and wife Jennifer, her daughter Cheryl Ledin and husband Kenny, grandchildren Tori Collins and partner Patrick Doherty, Christopher Collins, Matthew Collins, Robert Carey III, Lila Carey, Jack Carey, and Grace Carey. Great grandchildren Conor and Liam Doherty.

A private service will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Judy.
