Jean grew up in Hopkinton and graduated from Framingham South High School in 1969. Throughout her career, she worked in a variety of roles, including with Zayre Corporation in Natick and, most recently, at Wilde Printing in Holliston.
Jean will be remembered for her warm smile, wonderful sense of humor, and, above all, her kind and gentle spirit. She always put others before herself, offering comfort, encouragement, and a helping hand whenever someone was in need. She also had a remarkable creative talent and found joy in expressing herself through arts and crafts. Her paintings and handmade creations brought happiness to many, including the staff and residents at St. Joseph Manor, where her artistic gifts were greatly admired.
Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Barbara and Melvin Cleveland. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Downey of Haymarket, Virginia, widow of the late Bill Downey, Margie Sudmyer and her husband, Ron, of Framingham, Massachusetts; her sister-in-law, Yvonne Cleveland and her partner, Bill McManus, of Sandwich, Massachusetts; and was predeceased by her brother, Melvin Cleveland, in 2000. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she held close to her heart.
She is also survived by her loving children, Robyn Grebe of Hudson, Massachusetts, and Brett Grebe and his wife, Melissa, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts; and by her cherished grandsons, Henry and Gus, who brought her immense pride and joy.
She is also lovingly remembered by Bill Grebe of Brockton, Massachusetts, the father of Robyn and Brett, who remained a caring and supportive presence throughout Jean’s life. Their enduring friendship and mutual respect were a meaningful source of strength to both Jean and their family.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and expressions of love and support during this difficult time.
