Born in Sicily on July 29, 1933, Pina married her beloved husband, Giuseppe “Pino” Sanfilippo, on October 29, 1955 (predeceased in August of 2002).
In 1960, they came to America, beginning their life together in South Boston before settling in Braintree in 1975, where they lovingly raised their family.
Pina was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life centered around her family whom she cared for with unwavering love and strength. She was the proud mother of Tina (who predeceased her in 1996), Lina, Teresa and her husband Mike, Charlie and his wife Monica, and Joe and his wife Heather.
She was the cherished grandmother of Andrea, TJ, Joey, Michael, Bianca, Alessandra, and Andrew. Loving great-grandmother of Colby, Bryn, Gavin, Giuliana, Madison, Domenic, Salvatore, Charlotte, Francesca, and Juliette.
Pina will be remembered for her deep love of family, her resilience, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will especially be remembered for her kitchen, which was truly the heart of her home. Every Sunday morning, she made her famous meatballs and homemade sauce, preparing amazing meals that brought everyone together. Sunday dinner was a standing tradition where family and friends were always welcome – no one ever left hungry. Her cooking was an expression of her love, and those gatherings created memories that will be treasured forever.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00AM, St. Clare Parish, located at 1244 Liberty Street, Braintree, MA, 02184 immediately followed by a Celebration of Life at Weathervane Golf Club, located at 117 Clubhouse Drive, Weymouth, MA 02190. All are welcomed to attend.
