Emery Paul Bessette of Holyoke, MA, born on March 3, 1942 passed peacefully in his sleep on August 1, 2023 at the age of 81. His final weeks were spent being lovingly cared for by his eldest daughter, Maryjane in her home.
Emery (Paul or Butchy) had a career in drywall as a taper. His career was mainly in private homes but he was also involved in large scale projects that are well known to the local communities. Projects he was especially proud of were the Springfield Museum of History and Holyoke Mall build. After retirement, he kept himself busy as a Hot Dog vendor - you will remember him as “Mr. B”. He spent most of his time relaxing on his computer and trying out the latest electronic gadgets, but also enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino. As an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose he spent time meeting with friends to shoot pool and participate in poker nights. Emery will be remembered for the many life experience stories that he loved to share with all who met him.
Emery leaves behind his beloved, Jane L. Bessette the mother of his children, two daughters, Maryjane Bessette, Emily Butler and husband Robert of West Brookfield and his son Paul Bessette and wife Audra of Belchertown. He is survived by his sister Barbara Roseinski of Springhill, FL, his brother Charles of Chicopee, MA and his sister Mary Ball of Centralia, IL. His nine grandchildren knew him as Pepe; Anthony, Robert, Christopher, Andrew, Sarah, Mabelle, Maximus, Chris, and great grandson Anthony Jr. His memory also lives on in his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be private.
