Denise Ryle, 72, of Green Harbor, Massachusetts passed away peacefully on the early morning of January 10th in her home. Denise was born on April 6th, 1952 in Quincy, Massachusetts. Denise attended Braintree High School and graduated in 1970. Denise married John Ryle, her seventh-grade sweetheart, and was a devoted wife for 43 years. Denise cared for her beloved husband until his death on January 26, 2021.
Denise enjoyed her career at Gillette Company in Technical Development and Research, where she worked until she retired at the age of 53. After which she worked part-time at Cardinal Cushing Center. Denise would often spend weekends at the beach, she loved crocheting blankets for her family and friends, listening to her vinyl records, and spending time with her family.
Denise was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Simone Sassi of Farmington, New Hampshire, and brother Ralph Sassi of Quincy, Massachusetts. Denise is survived by her brother Mark Sassi and his girlfriend Cameron Cota, of Farmington, New Hampshire, and niece, Gianna Sassi. Denise’s aunt, Linda Chamberlain, of Lithia, Florida. Her brother-in-laws, Thomas Ryle of Chelsea and Damian Ryle and his wife Karen of Milton; her nephews, Kevin Nagel and his wife Cori of Scituate, Kelly Farrell of Maryland and Matthew Ryle of Milton. Denise’s sister-in-law, Patricia Ryle, whom Denise was very close to passed only a few days later on January 12, 2025 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Denise’s neighbor, Cecilia “Cheech” Colucci was her closest friend and companion. Denise loved to spend many nights watching her sing at local events. Katie McGuire who moved into the neighborhood joined in on the girls' fun and they all enjoyed getting together and sharing meals at Mia Regazza. Towards the end of her life, Denise enjoyed creating new friendships with her caregivers, Sam Bertino and Pat Gifford. Denise will be missed and well-remembered.
The family is holding a joint service for Denise and John Ryle at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield, MA on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
