Catherine was born May 18, 1960, and raised in Randolph. She attended Blue Hills Regional Technical High School and graduated in 1978 from the Graphic Arts Program. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce Gilfoy of Abington; her daughter, Deanna Nunes; her grandson, Ryan Nunes; her two granddaughters, Caleigh and MacKenzie Wright and her great-granddaughter, Lacie Potter all of West Bridgewater. To each of them, she was "Nannie", a name spoken with love and countless treasured memories, a title she wore with pride. She also leaves behind her cherished cats, Peanut and Patches, who brought her comfort and companionship and whom she loved dearly.
Nannie was known for her strong personality and her honesty. If she had something on her mind, she said it. She was genuine, fiercely loving, and never left anyone guessing where they stood. Beneath that strength was an incredibly thoughtful heart. She never missed a birthday, always remembered every special occasion, and delighted in giving gifts for every holiday.
Nannie found happiness in the simple things that made life special. She loved spending time at Nantasket Beach, cheering on the New England Patriots, and creating memories with her family. Her presence could fill a room, and her love could fill a lifetime.
In her final chapter, she showed the same strength and determination that defined her life. After a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, she fought courageously and with remarkable spirit. Even during her time at South Shore Hospital, she continued to inspire those around her, proudly showing off her dance moves down the hallway and reminding everyone that joy can be found even in life's most difficult moments.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the love she shared so freely. Her family will carry her spirit with them always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 2, 2026 from 2pm-5pm at The Knights of Columbus, 254 Hancock St., Abington. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor a woman who loved deeply, lived boldly, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew her.
Mom, Nannie, we will miss your voice, your laughter, your honesty, and your love. Thank you for everything you gave us. We will continue to dance for you.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
