Carol Ann Murphy

Carol Ann (Lagesse) Murphy of New Bedford, MA passed away on September 11, 2024 at the age of 77. She was born on October 4, 1946 to Florence (Le Beau) and Wilfred Lagesse in Acushnet, MA growing up in New Bedford, MA.

She graduated from New Bedford High School in 1965. She married Robert W. Murphy on February 12, 1966. They lived in Dartmouth, MA. She worked as a bookkeeper for many local companies, including Dartmouth Pools and Spas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W Murphy and her brother, Raymond Lagesse.

Carol was an animal lover and enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She lived in North Fort Myers, FL and Port Charlotte, FL for 10 years before moving back to New Bedford, MA to be near family.

She is survived by her children Christine A (Murphy) Foran of Mansfield, MA and Colleen H Murphy of New Bedford, MA. Her grandchildren Craig Richard Foran of Norton, MA, Taylor (Murphy) Jackson of New Bedford, Cassie T Secour of New Bedford. Her great-grandchildren August Knox and Olive Jackson both of New Bedford.

The family would like to thank Cassie Secour, Community Care and Hospice of New Bedford and Neptune Society for the care and compassion they showed Carol in her final days.
