

Ambrosio Araujo Jr., of Weymouth, MA, the beloved husband of Frances (Murphy) Araujo, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born in Brownsville, TX, raised in Algoa, TX, one of eleven children of Ambrosio L. Araujo and Rosa (Gomez) Araujo.
Ambrosio was a retired military veteran that served in the Airforce, Marine Corps and Army National Guard, collectively for over 20 years, including the Vietnam War. He worked for and retired from the federal government. Ambrosio enjoyed gardening, music and love of team sports; especially the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox. His primary joy was spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his wide smile, welcoming manner, loving hugs and signature salsa.
He was predeceased by eight siblings.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by three sons: William (Angela), Gabriel (Pamela) and Jacob; two sisters: Irma (Jackie) and Bernarda; eight grandchildren; Caleb, Ryan, Kiley, Jonas, Gabriel Jr., Mattie, Leonardo and Vincent; along with several nieces and nephews who adored him.
A celebration of Ambrosio’s life will be held at a later date. The family is grateful for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and expressions of love and support during this difficult time.
