Born on May 4, 1942, in Sacramento, California, Bill lived a life rooted in faith, love, kindness, and devotion to his family. He was a devoted follower of Christ whose life reflected quiet generosity, warmth, humor, and compassion toward others.
Bill was the son of West Cowan Davis and Evelyn Ella Davis (Peterson). He married the love of his life, Earlene Ann Pearson, on January 31, 1965, in San Mateo, California, and together they shared 61 years of love, partnership, friendship, and adventure while building a close and loving family.
A longtime salesman who worked for 3M Company for 35 years, Bill was known for his warm personality and ability to connect with people. He graduated from San Mateo High School in 1961 and later attended the College of San Mateo, earning an Associate’s Degree.
Bill had many passions throughout his life. He loved model trains, jogging, bicycle riding, boating and sailing, classic cars, traveling, and singing in the church choir. Music and fellowship brought him great joy, and he especially loved being part of the choir community. He adored his Golden Retrievers and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, laughter, family gatherings, and making memories with those he loved.
Those who knew Bill will remember his wonderful sense of humor, his warm heart, and the way he could make people laugh so easily. Whether through conversation, song, or simple acts of kindness, he brought comfort and joy to those around him. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him and was always willing to help others. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and presence will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Earlene Davis; his son, William Reed Davis; and his daughter, Julie Ann Davis-Hood and her husband, Lance Hood, of Desoto, Iowa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Olivia Laurel Otto and her husband, Jared Otto; Mya Nadine DeBruin and her husband, Zachery DeBruin; and Luke Jackson Hood; as well as his great-grandchild, Forest Lance DeBruin.
