Robert Raymond Robida of Altoona, Iowa, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 20, 2025, following his courageous struggle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. Bob was born (along with his identical twin brother, Paul) on October 7, 1950, in Webster, Massachusetts, the son of Raymond G. and Anita J. (Plasse) Robida. Bob graduated from St. Anne’s Elementary and St. Louis High Schools in Webster, MA. Bob earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Fitchburg State University and MBA studies at Suffolk in LaSalle Universities. Bob enjoyed a 21-year career in the United States Navy and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1993. Bob made a second career as a Senior Director with AT&T Mobility for 15 years where he retired in 2010. Bob was an ordained Priest of the Free Catholic Church and served as a Pastor, Associate Minister, Adjunct clergy and Hospice Spiritual Care Counselor in West Palm Beach, FL, Fort Worth, TX, Memphis, TN and New Port Richey, FL. Bob was an avid photographer, a self-proclaimed comedian and a person who loved life and loved to laugh.
Bob is survived by Lee S. Robida, His beloved husband of 30 years, his sons Ryan (Midori) of Ankeny, IA and Richard (Lindsey) Robida of Ft. Worth, TX, the cherished mother of his sons, Christine M. (Donnelly) Robida of Ladson, SC, his adored granddaughters Kaida, Adreonna, Alexandra and Aya, his devoted dogs, Gracie, Lucie, Dollie and Tessie, his very best friends Rodney (Ed), Brian (Kathy) and Martin, as well as his many, many friends especially: Mick and Veronica from London, Steve, Ed, Derek, Sharon, Kathy and Victoria from Florida.
A memorial service with military honors will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 12:30PM at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery (34024 Veterans Memorial Drive Adle, IA).
In lieu of flowers, donations to one of more of the following organizations in memory of Bob may be made: The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (230 East Ohio St Suite 500 Chicago, IL 60611), Community Congregational Church, UCC (6533 Circle Blvd. New Port Richey, FL 34652), Downtown Disciples Church (511 Des Moines Street Des Moines, Ia) or a charity of your choosing.
