Gerald D Sharp

Gerald (Jerry) D. Sharp, age 86 of Waukee, Iowa passed away July 7, 2025, at Everystep Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Jerry was born August 11, 1938, in Burlington, IA to Harry and Mary (Riggs) Sharp. He graduated from East High in Des Moines in 1957 and attended DMACC in Ankeny. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 10, 1957, and was honorably discharged June 9, 1963. Jerry worked as a nursing home administrator all over Iowa before his retirement. Gerald was united in marriage to Judy A. Bevins on November 16, 1962, in Des Moines.

Jerry will be missed by his wife, Judy Sharp; sons: Kevin Sharp and Christopher Sharp. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Cairns.

A celebration of life will take place at Attivo Trail in Waukee, IA. Craig Coons will preside over the service. Burial will take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
