Gary Dale Wermersen

On Monday, January 8, Gary Wermersen, 75, was called Home after a year-long cancer battle. The family thanks all his doctors and nurses at Methodist Medical Center, John Stoddard Cancer Center and EveryStep Kavanaugh House.

Gary was born March 22, 1948, in Ft. Dodge, IA to Claire and Henrietta Wermersen. He married the love of his life, Linda Grandquist in 1969. They had three daughters and lived a fun filled life. Summer trips to the west coast, with a direct route through Las Vegas and countless beach vacations in Siesta Key. Gary was a long-time home builder, loved slow pitch softball, golfing, bowling and most any sporting event with a beer in hand. He was family-oriented, goofy, spontaneous, stubborn, passionate, witty and joyful.

Gary is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Blazenko, Tricia (Dan) White, and Tamme (Brad) Forret, his grandchildren, Ellen (Danny) Sigler (TX), Samuel and Will Blazenko, Jacqueline and Joseph White, Claire and Katie Forret, his companion, Marilynn Cedarstrom, plus extended family and friends.
