Gary “Tom” was the son of Clement and Eleanor (Callahan) Guillaume. He was born and raised in Elk Point. Tom attended St. Peter’s Catholic School in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1963.
Tom enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in October of 1963, and was honorably discharged in October of 1967. Tom was employed with IBP in Dakota City, NE until he relocated to Grinnell, IA in 1984. Tom owned and operated “Tom’s Fast Photo” and later employed with Industrial Beverage until he retired.
Tom’s passion was working with computers. He had a remarkable sense of humor, quick wit and always had a joke.
Tom loved cats and was a strong supporter of PALS.
Tom is survived by his beloved cat, Emma; a sister, Sara (Guillaume) Austin, of Bloomington, MN; a brother, Peter (Patti) Guillaume of Mishawaka, IN; a sister-in-law, Marie (Hansen) Guillaume of Hurst, TX; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Genece (Guillaume) Quinn; a brother-in-law, Freeman Quinn; a brother, Gregory Guillaume; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Austin.
The family of Gary “Tom” Guillaume would like to express sincere appreciation to the Unity Point Health-Grinnell staff and Brooklyn Community Estates, administration and staff, in the wonderful care that was provided to Tom and the support given to his family.

A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
