Arval Eugene Capehart

Arval Eugene Capehart, 75, passed away on September 22, 2026 in Des Moines, Iowa. Gene was born on March 12, 1951 in Guthrie Center, IA to William and Barbara (Caldwell) Capehart. He graduated from Jefferson Scranton High School in 1969. Gene worked as a truck driver and mechanic for National By Products. He was united in marriage to Connie Louise Sharpnack on February 2, 1974 in Des Moines.

In his free time, Gene could be found welding, collecting Aladdin lamps, camping, attending car shows or working on old cars. He loved watching the grand girls play softball. Some of his favorites included Nascar, Cubs baseball and traveling when he got the chance.

Gene will be missed by his wife, Connie Capehart; son, Christopher (Teresa) Capehart; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Lila Capehart, nephews Jerry and Jim; granddaughters, Alisa Capehart and Sunny Carolus and great nephews, Thomas (Lacey) and Bentley Capehart and Mason Capehart.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Barb Capehart and in-laws, Ray and Betty Sharpnack.
