Adeline Alice Hilts

Adeline Alice Hilts, 92, passed away under the care of Suncrest Hospice at Westhaven Community in Boone, Iowa on February 6, 2025. Adeline was born September 7, 1932, in Boone, IA to Norman Runyan and Olive Irene Hruska (Kelley).

Adeline loved dogs and collecting both angels and chickens. She fondly talked about life on the farm when she was young. Adeline always had a smile for everyone and a conversation making jewelry to suit her. She enjoyed adding paint to all of her knick-knacks.

She will be missed by her two daughters: Darlene (Den) Lonergan of Boone and Angela (Kevin) Yungclas of Huxley; 9 grandchildren: Michael Ray, Barbara McDonald, Hayley Rhodes, Jason Lonergan, Christy Thede, Heather Ruiz, Sara Jones, Ashley and Kiesha Yungclas; 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Glen, Bobby and Neal Runyan; three sisters, Sandy Foltz, Jeanie Lunsford and Eloise Davis; two songs: David and Dennis Smelcer and one grandson, David Smelcer Jr.

A celebration of life will take place from 1-4Pm, on March 22nd, 2024 at the Erb Center at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
