Susan Kay Harper passed away at the age of 63 years in her apartment at Brookdale assisted living and was under hospice care due to lung cancer. Sue grew up with 7 siblings Bill, Bob, John, Marie, Treba, Don, and Trish. Preceded in death by Father William Randolph Harper (‘61), Mother Dema Cloel Corley (‘97). Brothers Bill (‘98), (‘Bob (‘96). Sister Marie (‘07). Nephews, Raymond (‘81), Peter-Paul (‘08) Jeffery (‘88), Tom (‘07). Niece Luann (00). Sue is survived by John(Loretta,Lin,Jason), Treba Sinclare(Al, Tara,George,Gianna,Nicolas), Don(Elaine,Angel,Dawn),Trish Hodge(Bob,Howard). Nieces & Nephews: Betsy, Kimberly, Charlotte, Jacqueline, Luann, Whitney, Terrie, John, Suzanne, Scott, Richard, Michelle, Tom. And many Great nieces & nephews. Sue loved family, celebrating holidays, birthdays and all other celebrations with family and of course lots of friends. Jackie Grega was Sue’s long time BFF. Jackie aided in caring, loving and being at Sue’s bedside. God bless you Jackie we are forever grateful. Sue retired in 2009. April 1973 – 2009 (38yrs) Former Administrative Services Manager III at Los Angeles County DCFS. Sue had a solid relationship with Jesus and was passionate in studying His word. Sue was part of a local Bible Study until health reasons didn’t permit any longer. Sue’s favorite hobby was quilting and so going to quilt shops was a joy for her. She spent time sewing with fellow quilters and never met a stranger. Sue made everyone feel as they belonged by her quick wit, everlasting smile and never stopping sense of humor. Loved attending classes and workshops to learning new techniques, what the new tools were that would make quilting easier or more fun. Sue’s precious words were, don’t worry about me, I’m OK. I’m ready to go Home; I’m just waiting on the Lord. God’s will, God’s timing……….And so it was. Sue requested and arranged to be cremated and her ashes to be scattered at Sea. The Neptune Society of West Covina 436 N Azusa Ave., West Covina, CA 91791 is handling arrangements.
