Miguel Olvera Valdivia

Born in Azusa, California on Oct.3. 1926 Miguel was received by The Lord June 16, 2026. He was the first born of Juan Valdivia and Vicenta Valdivia nee Olvera. There were two siblings, but they died in early infancy.

Miguel lost both parents by the age of three and was raised by his grandmother Felipa Olvera nee Puga and other relatives in La Puente, CA. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific during WWII being discharged in 1946. Miguel married Petra Prado Beserra in 1947 and soon after started a family in EL Monte. He bought a shoe repair shop on a handshake in 1948 from Mr. Clyde Stanley and was in business for over 50 years at the same location in San Gabriel, California.

Miguel was preceded in death by his wife Petra in 1999 after more than 52 years of marriage. He is survived by his five children, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed.
