April 22, 1960 – June 25, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lee Alan Taylor, who left this world on June 25, 2026, at the age of 66. Lee was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose life was defined by his unwavering love for his family, his generosity, and his dependable nature.
Lee was born on April 22, 1960, in Gettysburg, South Dakota, before his family relocated to Wyoming and eventually settled in La Puente, California. It was there that he grew up and graduated from Nogales High School with the Class of 1978.
As a young man, Lee dreamed of serving his country by joining the military. Although those plans changed when his father helped him get his first job at DD Wire, it became the beginning of a lifetime of hard work and dedication.
Family was the center of Lee’s world. He is survived by his loving mother, Yvonne Taylor. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Taylor, and his brother, Lonnie Taylor.
He leaves behind his siblings: Lesley Taylor (Linda Taylor), Larry Taylor, Lisa Avilas (Gilbert Avilas), and Lori Sambrano (Louie Sambrano).
Lee was an incredibly proud father to his daughter, Melanie Melendrez, and his son, Jeremy Taylor (Kristy Taylor). He was a loving grandfather to Dominic Melendrez, Ansony Taylor, Keilyn Taylor, Richard Taylor, and Dominic Taylor.
One of Lee’s greatest passions was fishing, a love that began in childhood while spending countless days on the water with his father and siblings. Whether fishing at the river, the lake, or the ocean, those moments brought him peace and remained one of his favorite pastimes throughout his life.
Lee also found great joy on the softball field. For many years, he selflessly coached his daughter’s and nieces softball teams.
After retiring, Lee continued to give of himself without hesitation. He lovingly helped care for his great-niece and great-nephew (Felicite and Landon Etue) and devoted countless hours to helping care for his brother-in-law, Louie. His willingness to help never came with conditions; if someone needed him, Lee was there.
He also had a special bond with the beloved dog, Isabelle, whose companionship brought him endless comfort and happiness.
Lee was known for being stubborn in the best possible way—standing firm in what he believed, always speaking honestly, and remaining fiercely loyal to the people he loved. He was dependable, hardworking, compassionate, and would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. If family or friends needed help, he was there.
Lee’s greatest legacy is not found in the years he lived, but in the countless lives he touched through his generosity, quiet strength, unwavering love, and willingness to put others before himself. His memory will live on in every fishing trip, every family gathering, every story shared, and in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in knowing that the love he gave so freely will continue to guide us. Lee will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
