Juan Castro passed away peacefully at Kaiser Permanente Ontario on June 11, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on January 13, 1944, Juan called La Verne, California, home for much of his life. He also lived in Pomona and Port Hueneme, where he built lifelong friendships and created countless memories.
Juan was a devoted dad, brother, uncle, grandpa, great-grandpa, fishing buddy, and friend. He was especially proud to be a Girl Dad, raising his daughters to be strong, confident, and independent women. His love, guidance, and unwavering support shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.
If there was one thing Juan loved most, it was fishing. Fishing wasn't just his favorite pastime - it was his passion. He loved teaching others how to fish and found joy in sharing his knowledge with family, friends, and anyone willing to cast a line. To so many, he wasn't just a fishing buddy; he was the reason they fell in love with fishing.
Juan will be remembered for his kind and generous heart, his sweet nature, his beautiful smile, and his contagious laugh that could brighten any day. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and valued, and his memory will continue to live on in every lesson he taught, every memory he created, and every line cast in his honor.
Forever loved.
Until we fish again...
Fishing in Heaven.
