Irene Joan Moyer, age 86, of San Dimas, CA. passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025. She was born in Cleveland, OH to the late John and Isabel Murray. Irene was a cherished member of her community and family, remembered for her warmth, creativity, and enthusiasm for life. She worked at Caco-Pacific for many years, where she formed lasting connections and left an enduring legacy. Irene’s happiest moments were spent around the campfire with her family, sharing stories and laughter, and white elephant Christmas games. A talented seamstress, she lovingly crafted costumes for a play about Dr. Doolittle, bringing her creativity to life as well as patchwork quilts made from the blue jeans of family members. She also found joy in the simple pleasures, from riding the golf cart around the park to watching survival shows, playing scrabble alone or with an opponent—though her favorite was Family Feud with Steve Harvey, and lately watching The Golden Girls with her granddaughter, Jeni. She never missed a police chase with her son Jim and granddaughter Kayleigh. The 4th of July held a special place in her heart, as she delighted in watching fireworks light up the night sky from the Fairplex. Her love of life, family, and tradition will be warmly remembered by all who knew her. Widowed for many years, Irene leaves behind her “Tribe” consisting of her children Rhonda (Mark) Warner, Sheila (John) Walker, Jim (Kristy) Moyer, John Moyer, and Jared Moyer. She has one surviving sister, Jackie Baluch. Passed before her were Ronald Murray, James Murray, John "Butch" Murray, Mike Murray, and Pat Waid. She has many grandchildren, Jeni, Hillary, Corey, Kayleigh, Macguire, Danielle, Raelee, Mason, and Annistan, Joey, Jake, Kelsey and Samantha, as well as great grandchildren who lovingly called her GG...Nathan, Jesse, Mia, Trinity, Logan, Deegan, Paisley and Hayden, and last but not least, Jade.
Even when she was not feeling well, she still yelled “Yeehaw” out the front door at passing friends on golf carts. She had a contagious spirit! She had a way of spreading joy and laughter, no matter how she felt. Moments like those really stick with people; they're a beautiful reminder of someone's unique spark. She never missed an opportunity for inappropriate humor, even in front of the grandkids, saying “delete, delete, delete” afterwards. Irene was an extraordinary woman who left a lasting legacy of love & laughter. The vivid details of her life—the campfire stories, the lovingly crafted quilts and costumes, the simple joys of golf carts and survival shows—paint a picture of someone who truly cherished the moments that brought people together. Her “Yeehaw” spirit encapsulates a remarkable ability to spread warmth and joy, even when life threw challenges her way. It’s clear that her traditions and zest for life will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Celebration of Life to be held on Friday April 25th, 2025 at 11AM at One & All Church located at 1404 W. Covina Blvd., San Dimas, CA 91773.
