Born on September 8, 1967, David was blessed to have been the second of three children adopted by Thomas and Shirley Boyd of Kentucky. As a child, his family lived in Rome, Italy where he had beautiful memories including skateboarding around the Vatican. His family eventually settled in Clayton, CA where he graduated from Clayton Valley High School and then earned his Bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College in Moraga. During his studies, he took a year off to travel throughout Australia and New Zealand.
After graduation he found a passion for building, particularly tile work and kitchen/bath remodeling. Through mutual friends, he met his wife and had three wonderful sons, all of whom were the joy of his life. He built them their forever home in Pleasant Hill and focused on raising his boys. He was very active in kids’ sports, coaching many years in AYSO as well as baseball and basketball teams. He loved playing soccer and was thrilled that his sons grew to share his passion for golf.
David saw the good in everyone. He had an innate love for helping people and that guided his life without asking for anything in return.
David was preceded in death by his father, Tom. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carmen, and his sons Robert, Michael, and Johnathon, his mother Shirley, brother Paul, sister Diana (Phil Reitz), numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
