

Ron Poole passed away peacefully in his home on December 4, 2020. Born at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ron grew up in Deer Park, where he attended Deer Park High School. A gifted and accomplished athlete, Ron excelled at baseball, football, basketball, and track.
Accepting an athletic scholarship offer to attend the University of Cincinnati, Ron played offensive line for the Bearcats' football team. Ron was also a member of Sigma Sigma honorary fraternity. Ron was also a member of the US Army Reserve, attaining the level of First Lieutenant before leaving the Army in 1968.
While a student-athlete at UC, Ron met the love of his life, Suzanne. Ron and Suzanne were married shortly after Ron graduated from UC, in June 1962.
Ron had a long career in business management including positions at Eagle-Picher and Hyster. In the late 1980's he took a position running a non-profit organization that funded a creative pageantry arts group. Retiring in 2000, Ron and Suzanne settled into a comfortable retirement in Florida. They returned to Cincinnati in February, 2020. Over the years Ron volunteered much of his time coaching youth sports, helping the needy with tax preparation, and as a volunteer for SHINE, an organization that helps elderly and low-income people with answers about medical benefits.
Ron is survived by his wife, Suzanne, as well as children Andy (Debra), Mark, and Sharon Turner (John), nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 21st, 2020 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 800 Ohio Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45245.
