Robert Wayne Gayler

Bob Gayler, age 63 of Dayton, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday September 25, 2024. He grew up in La Puente, California, graduated from Nogales High School in 1979 followed by California State University, Fullerton in 1983 with a degree in Accounting. He moved his family to Dayton, OH in 1992 and continued working in Finance until he retired in July 2008.

Bob was very proud of his time coaching youth sports for all three of his sons and continued after they were grown up as an assistant for the Centerville Middle School football team. His love & passion for golf started when he was young and continued to the very last day. He was lucky enough to have two holes-in-one, with the most recent occurring on July 22, 2023. Bob shared many other passions with his friends & family, but his greatest enjoyment was being “Pops” to his 5 wonderful grandchildren.

Bob was a three-time organ donor recipient, and his final wishes were to be able to give back which he did.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lynne Gayler, his sons and their wives Christopher & Kristen, Brian & Jennifer, Trevor & Kelsey. His grandchildren Julia, Stephanie, Graham, Kate & Ella. Also, his mother, Diana Meyer, brother William Gayler and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald Gayler and stepfather Eldon Meyer.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life on Monday, October 21, 2024 from 6-8pm, at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace 10000 Yankee St, Centerville, OH 45458.
