Nancy Lucille Jantzen of West Chester, Ohio, passed away on the 23rd of June 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on the 5th of May 1944, in Baltimore, MD. She grew up in Birmingham, AL, and later moved with her family to Athens, AL, as a teenager.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Datsie, and by her sister, Gail.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Don, her brother Alvis, his wife and daughter, Sara and Ally, and her nephew, Edward.
For most of her career, she worked as a Defense Industry Manufacturing Supervisor and Manager but slowed down later in life to enjoy a less stressful retirement. Nancy liked new experiences, and moved from Alabama, to live in Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, and finally Ohio. She always enjoyed meeting new people and made life-long friends along the way.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cottingham Retirement Community for the care and compassion they showed Nancy for the last two and a half years.
Our family will have a private graveside service in Alabama later in the summer of 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her honor to PetSmart Charities at https://petsmartcharities.org/. Nancy was always an animal lover, and, after losing her dear cat, Puffer, she was able to adopt E.B. and M.E. through the PetSmart adoption services, saving two souls.
Mom was a firm believer in our Lord, Jesus Christ, and also believed He has a job for all of us in Heaven. Through her explorations, she found she wanted to be a teacher in the afterlife, to help others to make the adjustment, and to comfort them – much the same as she has done here on Earth. Her journey is only just beginning….
