Born April 13, 1937, to Samuel and Tillie (Silverberg) Green. Joe grew up in Los Angeles, California, with his two younger siblings, Joan and Stan. Joe attended UCLA, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. This is where he met the love of his life, Marilyn, and they were married in Los Angeles on December 20, 1959. Joe and Marilyn raised their two sons, Brad and Craig, in Orange County, California. Joe had a long and successful career in the mortgage banking industry and when he retired, he and Marilyn moved to Flagstaff, Arizona, where they enjoyed many years together living amongst the beautiful San Francisco Mountains. Later in their retirement, to get away from the snowy winters in Flagstaff, they also lived for several years in the beautiful red rocks of Sedona, Arizona. Joe loved living in Northern Arizona and was an avid bridge player and bowler. He achieved a Gold Life Master status in bridge and one time bowled a perfect 300 game.
In 2022, Joe and Marilyn moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be closer to their children and grandchildren in Cincinnati and Bishop, Georgia. Joe was predeceased by his father and mother. And he is survived by wife Marilyn (Gross) Green; sister Joan Lebman (Nate); brother Stan Green (Sue); sons Brad Green (Dianne) and Craig Green (CarolAnn); grandchildren Cierra Green, Mallory Green and Sebastian Green. In typical Joe fashion, there are no services planned, certainly no pomp and circumstance. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Kidney Fund or the American Heart Association in memory of Joe.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.neptunesociety.com/location/cincinnati-oh-cremation for the Green family.
