Born in Ashland KY to Lola Mae (Fannin) and Alfred Rice
Jerry loved sports and grew up playing football, basketball, and baseball for Raceland. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Morehead State University in KY. He was an avid fan of UK basketball, Ohio State Football, the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and soccer. He found pride in his son’s accomplishments, coaching soccer, helping mentor youth through boy scouts, and watching his sons grow into the successful men they’ve become.
Jerry’s real joy was time spent with family and friends. He enjoyed coaching, photography, wine tastings at home and at various wineries, and kayaking. His favorite times were at the beaches on the Gulf Coast of Florida and in Ashville and the beaches of NC. Among his favorite trips were a Disney Cruise for his 25th wedding anniversary, Destin FL for his 30th wedding anniversary, and Hawaii for his 35th wedding anniversary.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Debbie, sons Keith (Lindsey), and Eric (Aly), sister Mary (Denny) Breller, brother Jim (Kathy) Rice, grandchildren Quinn, Monroe, Emerson, and Marie, and several nieces and nephews.
