Edith Strouse

Edith (Eydie) Strouse, previously of Bethel, CT, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025 in Cincinnati, OH. Born on March 11, 1941 in Buffalo, NY to Henry James and Dorothy Schierstein, Eydie moved to New York City in 1963 where she met the love of her life, David Charles Strouse. They married in 1964 and soon relocated to Bethel, CT to raise their three children, Nancy Strouse, David (Tissa) Strouse, and Sarah (James) May.

Eydie was most proud of her grandsons, Isaac and Kai, and devoted her later life to them. She was always first in line to help a friend, share a lunch at Armando's, or scour local thrift and consignment shops for the big deals. She will be missed by her family and many, many friends. A private memorial will be held in the Spring.

Eydie often made donations to charities supporting those she loved. Donations in her memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Alzheimer’s Association, ASCPA, or the charity of your choice.
