It is with so much love and immense sadness that we announce the passing of beloved wife, sister, and loyal friend, Eileen Lopez, 69, of Brentwood, California. She departed this life on September 14, 2025, from liver cancer.
She was born on November 1, 1955, to Charles and Ruth Madigan in Cleveland, Ohio.
Eileen attended Akron University in Akron, Ohio, achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
She married Edward Lopez in November of 1986; they did not have children.
Her career was in management of retail and commercial real estate. She retired as the Director of Lease Management at Ross Dress for Less, Inc. in 2019.
She was an avid reader, loved travel, golf, diamond painting, cooking, good wine and food, living a blessed life in retirement at Trilogy at the Vineyards in Brentwood, following her beloved SF Giants and San Francisco 49ers and spending time with husband, Ed, family and friends.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Ed Lopez, and sisters Maureen, MaryBeth and Coleen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ruth Madigan, sister Patricia and brother Terry.
Eileen brought light and grace wherever she went. Known for her kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion, she spent her life nurturing her family, cherishing friendships, and giving selflessly to those around her.
She is with God now, peaceful and free from cancer. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Private Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Brentwood, California, 500 Fairview Avenue, by invitation. There will also be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, October 30th at 12:00 pm at the Mount Diablo Event Center at Trilogy at the Vineyards in Brentwood, 1700 Trilogy Parkway.
Interment will follow at a later date at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California. She will join her father Charles, mother Ruth, and brother Terry, also interred here. Her husband Ed will follow her.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Eastbay, a non-profit hospice that cared for Eileen with the utmost skill and care.
