She is survived by her mother and father, Francisque and Geremy Mensing, and her elder siblings Donovin Foreman, Alena Mensing, Caelia Mensing, and Emrys Mensing as well as a large extended family.
Terra was an absolute beacon of joy and was always smiling even through intense chemotherapy. She was intelligent and advanced for her age and had a deep love of music; one of her favorite things to do was dance to music, especially the theme song of her favorite show, Bluey. Terra was just learning to walk but already had a firm grasp on it and was trying to run after only a couple of weeks of practice. Terra was always extremely expressive and loved meeting new people; everyone loved her little head tilt and smile.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of CHKD’s CCBDC—most notably Lexie, Jenn, Mykia, and Patrick—as well as the nursing staff of CHKD’s Hematology/Oncology team, and most especially Dr. Eric Lowe for the care and compassion they showed our loved one. Additionally, extra special thanks and love are given to Khy as Terra’s assigned nurse on August 15th, and to that day’s charge nurse Mary, to Bianca—who stayed with mom in the Quiet Room—and to Claire as the nurses who were first to respond when we realized something was wrong and that Khy needed assistance.
Family and friends are invited to attend a ‘floating’ celebration of life Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., The Old Peanut Factory, 916 Badham Rd., Edenton, NC 27932.
