Patricia Ann Herzog, age 70, of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was born on January 31, 1953 in Cincinnati, OH and graduated from Hughes High School with a home economics major. She attended University of Cincinnati for Education. She moved to San Diego, CA and married Robert Herzog.
Patricia was very involved in military life and was often a sponsor for new Navy wives. Before moving to Virginia, she was a paralegal. Patricia loved being a mother and was very active in her children’s school and extracurricular activities. She was a founding member of Vineyard Church and was the first secretary. Additionally she founded the food pantry at the church and was a leader of many women’s groups and a women’s retreat speaker.
With the birth of her first granddaughter, Patricia watched each grandchild until they were 2 years old. She volunteered for Birthright at Leigh Memorial Hospital. Patricia pursued and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from Old Dominion University and her Master’s in Counseling from Grand Canyon University. She was an avid shopper never meeting a sale she didn’t like having a purse collection to envy and shoes to match every single outfit.
Patricia was creative in nature and was very much into every craft including, stamping, quilting, sewing, stenciling, stitching, and scrapbooking.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 43 years, Robert L Herzog; children, DeLisa Maria Konefal and her husband Jesse C Konefal, LaTonnya Cherice Vanderspoel and her husband Jacob Vanderspoel, and NaTasha Renee Herzog; grandchildren, Moses (fka Dominque) Cain, Arelius Cheracles, Elliot Konefal, MiKayla Vanderspoel, and Quinn Konefal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glover Allen and Ida (Wynn) Allen; brothers, Hershel Allen and Cedric Allen; and sisters, Gertrude (Allen) Ross and Gloria (Allen) Lester.
A celebration of life service for Patricia Herzog will be at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Vineyard Church, 4444 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA. For those who are unable to travel to Virginia Beach to attend, the service will be live streamed by visiting Facebook.com/vineyardva or Youtube Vineyard Church (see link below).
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the Food Pantry at Vineyard Church "Missions Local" in Patricia’s name.
Patricia was a loving wife, mother and the best NONA ever!
