While in the Navy he served on the USS Gato, USS Norfolk and the L.Y. Spear. His specialty was in combat control systems. During his time in the Navy he was awarded many medals and commendations. He earned the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy "E" Ribbon, Sea Service Ribbon, and many more.
He loved fishing, taking care of his beautiful garden, grilling, spending time on his computer and devices, but most of all, he loved being around his family and friends.
