

Joseph Bear Leedy, 79, of the 1900 block of Old Ridge Road, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, at Virginia Beach General Hospital. He leaves behind a legacy defined by dedicated service, a loving family, and quiet, enduring faith.
Born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Joe was the beloved son of the late Ira Raymond Leedy and Mary Bear Leedy. He relocated to Virginia, where he spent his professional career as a highly skilled senior service technician for Daubers Appliance Repair until his retirement. Throughout his life, Joe maintained deep Christian beliefs, regularly expressing his devotion to his faith and community through online giving.
Joe was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Nancy Leedy.
He is survived by his loving children, stepchildren, and their spouses:
• Stacy Michelle Reyes and husband Michael of Virginia Beach, VA
• Barbara Ann Holden and husband Tom of Vista, CA
• Cathy Sue Medlock and husband Danny of Virginia Beach, VA
• Jennifer Morgan Lindley of Virginia Beach, VA
• Clair Emil Morgan III and wife Case of Richmond, VA
Joe's legacy lives on through his six grandchildren: Matthew, Amber, Janine, Vivienne, Leandra, and Katie; his five step-grandchildren: Cody, Alex, Emma, Henry, and Jack; his six great-grandchildren: Beka, Kileigh, Ian, Malaki, Andy, and Milo; and his seven step-great-grandchildren: Teagan, Ashton, Lucas, Summer, Nolan, Evelyn, and Elaina.
In keeping with Joe's wishes, all services will be private. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Joe's honor to support homeless animals at the Virginia Beach SPCA via their online giving platform.
