Jason Christian Hartman was born June 10, 1969 passed on January 5, 2024 at the age of 54. He lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was the son of Darrell and Judy (Rader) Hartman currently of Milford, Ohio. Jason entered the Marine Corp right out of high school. He later entered the Navy Reserve then entered active duty in the Navy as support to the Navy Seals. He served in the 1st Gulf War, “Desert Storm” on the USS Nassau as support to the Harrier jets and helicopter pilots. After retiring from the Navy, he moved to Texas and worked on the Texas pipeline as a pipeline radiographer for a year. He then moved back to Virginia Beach contracting to the Navy as a FFA Master Parachute Rigger.
Jason was an avid skydiver and found joy in soaring through the clouds, experiencing the thrill of defying gravity. He had over 3,000 parachute jumps in his career. Additionally, he had a passion for cooking and grilling, creating mouth-watering meals that brought people together. Above all else, Jason cherished spending quality time with his children, creating beautiful memories that will forever be treasured.
Surviving are his wife Krystal, and daughter Charlotte of Virginia Beach, step-son, Stefan Hartman of Weston, OH, son Schuyler (Jessica), granddaughters Hannah, Zoey, and Merritt of Weston, OH, infant son, Spencer (deceased), son Chancellor of Cantonment, FL, son Ethan of Virginia Beach, VA, stepdaughter Kaela Fisher of North Carolina. Jason's surviving siblings are sister Michelle Smith (Chris) of Phoenix, AZ, brothers Jeremiah (Jennifer) of Miamisburg, OH, Joshua (Toni) of Charleston, WV, sister Mandy May (Brian) of Milford, OH.
Memorial Service will be at Beach Fellowship, Church 1817 General Booth Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23454 on January 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Ray Bjorkman
There will be a Military Color Guard presentation.
At a later date Jason’s ashes will find their final resting place at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington D.C.
Jason's service will be Live Streamed from the Church Facebook and YouTube sites.
At the conclusion of the service, the family will have a private reception.
