Franklin Ivan Rivera

Franklin Ivan Rivera, age 63, of Norfolk, Virginia formerly of Volcan, Panama passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Frank was surrounded by family and friends as he transitioned into the arms of his Lord and Savior. Above all he loved Jesus and his family. Frank was an avid Cowboys football fan and was a member of Palms Church. He also enjoyed carpentry, bowling, and playing sequence, corn hole, and monopoly.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Nicole Rivera, Franklin "Buddy" Rivera II (Amanda), Anthony Rivera (Jayme), and Roberto Rivera (Zephyr); grandchildren, Ryleigh, Cora, Aubrey and Emmitt Rivera; sister, Iris Redding; nieces, Jessica Schwabe, Lilia Lowe (Jason), and Marissa Roebuck (Jason); great nieces & nephews, Maximus & Violet Lowe, Rylan Schwabe, Trevor & Serena Roebuck, longtime companion, Diana Nowocien; aunts, Isabel Edgerton, Delicia Prillaman, and Lucila Molina; and best friends, Wayne Sturgill, Dave Cook and Lee Medeiros.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicolas and Lilia Rivera; sisters, Sandra Rivera and Lilia Rivera and brother-in-law, Steve Redding.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Great Neck Park, 2513 Shorehaven Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Palms Church.
