

Debra "Debbie" Rae Prince passed away on February 10, 2026, at the age of 71. She was born on December 22, 1954. Debbie was a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Debbie was one of five sisters, she was born to Raymond and Irene Giacin in Pensacola, Florida. Through her father's military career, the family settled in Hampton Roads area of Virginia where Debbie spent much of her life going forward. Debbie attended Virginia Beach VOTECH Center and obtained her LPN certification in 1988 and later became certified as a Radiology Technician, and a certified CPR instructor. She worked for many years using these certifications at the Virginia Beach City Jail.
Debbie enjoyed crafting, specifically making jewelry, scrapbooking, and crocheting. She also loved taking cruises with her sisters, daugthers, nieces, and grandchildren, and enjoyed many summer family reunions in Chincoteague, Virginia, attending the Annual Pony Swim on the island.
She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Edward Giacin; mother, Irene Agnes Giacin; sister, Donna Rae Banninger; grandsons, Raymond Reed and Adam Carr; great granddaughter, Michelle Rae Carr.
Debbie is survived by three sisters, Susan Rae and Tony Riccio, Linda Rae Cole, and Sandra Rae and Rich Bickar; Three nieces, Angela Riccio, Tina Rae Hill, and Gina Riccio; five nephews, Raymond Hill, Alex Ray Bickar, Tony Riccio III, Neal Bickar, and Michael Bickar; three daughters, Rachelle Rae and David Petersen, Karen Rae Carr, and Sharon Rae Beddingfield; six grandsons, Thomas Ray Reed, Jacob and Summer Carr, Mason Beddingfield, Noah and Hailey Carr, David Petersen, and Kyle Beddingfield; three granddaughters, Rebecca and Zavier Livermore, Laura Petersen and fiancé Santana Lyons, Hannah Rae and Korbin McCaskey; and seven great grandchildren.
There will be a family reunion celebrating Debbie’s life at a later date, allowing each of us to strengthen the bonds of our family, share memories of Debbie, and celebrate the love we have for her. “Family multiplies joys and divides sorrows.”
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company to be put towards the department that goes into caring for and preserving the ponies who swim from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island every summer, an event that Debbie loved to attend with family for many years.
