Clarence Roger Witt

Clarence (Roger) passed away at the age of 82 at his daughters’ home in Elizabeth City, North Carolina on Tuesday, April 28, 2026. He was born on October 4, 1943, in Roanoke, Virginia to Gernie Estelle Simmons and Russel Lindsey Witt.

He joined the military in 1966 and retired after 28 years in the United States Navy in Florida. He retired as a Boatswain Mate Chief. His hobbies included Playing pool, Golf, Nascar, Fishing, Poker, watching the Olympics as well as watching John Wayne movies and watching Bones and Castle. As we remember our father Clarence Roger Witt, he will be deeply missed.

He was a wonderful Husband of Barbara Jean Pratt, (1942-2020) Father and Grandfather to his seven children: Kimberly A. Phillips/spouse Verlin (Phil) Phillips of North Carolina, children of Kimberly- David G Humphrey (North Carolina) Codey A.F. Bernard (North Carolina), Nicholas W. Rickard (Indiana). Children of Verlin(Phil) son– Verlin Bill of North Carolina and Frankie Bill of Virginia. Roger Wayne Witt (spouse) Alexis Skylakon of Pennsylvania, and their son Stephen Witt (PA). Kellie Tellez/spouse Luis Tellez of Florida, and their son Luis Michael Witt (FL). Greg Gorchinsky of Pennsylvania, Michael Witt/ spouse Carla Esbjorn of Florida, and their two daughters Helena Esbjorn Witt and August Esbjorn Witt (Fl). Shannon and Shana Witt of Florida. Dad has one living sibling Thomas R. Witt of Florida.

The Rest of his family members are resting at peace with his parents. Now dad can rest in peace with no more pain. Enjoy your new life in heaven. You will always be in our hearts. We love you dad.
