

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Beverly Ann Bunn, 87, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026. Formerly a resident of Bath, NY, Beverly brought warmth, joy, and comfort to everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Beverly possessed a rare and beautiful gift: she made friends effortlessly and had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel instantly welcomed and valued. Her life was deeply rooted in her immense passion for her family and friends. She was a constant, loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always showing up to support them with boundless pride and devotion.
Alongside her husband, Richard, Beverly shared a love for racing. She dedicated many years to working on his racing career and cherished their time spent together watching the races on television. A woman of many talents and simple pleasures, she found joy in crocheting, reading, and bowling. Above all, Beverly loved to cook. Her kitchen was the heart of her hospitality, and her tradition of baking and sending her famous Christmas cookies to everyone she loved will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, Richard Bunn; her devoted children, Beverly Bunn, Cheryl Houghtaling and her husband Gary, and Richard Bunn; sister, Betty Pietrzak; as well as several cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Pierre Read; her mother, Mary Read; and her great-grandson, Sabin Abbott.
In accordance with Beverly’s wishes, there will be no public services.
