

Amy Rogers Swink of Norfolk, Virginia died peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer in her home surrounded by her beloved husband and family on March 13, 2024. She passed away knowing that her hope is in Jesus Christ and she will be with Him for eternity.
Amy was born in Norfolk, Virginia, the daughter of Carolyn Kavanaugh Rogers and the late Henry Moore Rogers, Jr. She was 67 years old. She was born on April 16, 1956 and was married to her devoted husband Randy, the love of her life.
She was a 1974 graduate of Maury High School, graduated from James Madison University in 1978 and received a Master of Science degree from Old Dominion University in 1978 in Community Health Education. While attending graduate school she was a Young Life Leader.
Amy loved the Lord and actively served in her church at downtown Trinity Norfolk. She also served in women’s ministries and led women’s bible studies. She was a prayer warrior and was actively involved with the prayer team of Trinity Church in downtown Norfolk and Mom’s in Prayer in Virginia Beach. Whether it was delivering groceries to needy families through Manna Ministry or serving friends or family, she always had a heart to serve others.
She was the Director of The Every Woman’s Life Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School for 26 years until she retired in July 2021. She was devoted to her family, friends, loved the beach, running and was an incredible cook.
Survivors include her husband, Randy Stokes Swink; mother, Carolyn K. Rogers; son, Michael Jennings Swink and his wife Erica Broadley Swink; daughter, Jennifer Swink Cantor and her husband Matthew Aaron Cantor; sister, Elaine Parkerson Rogers and her husband Brendan Timothy Hayes; nephew, Austin Rogers Hayes married to Leah Hayes, their two children Maven Henry Hayes and Marcilyn Catherine Hayes; nephew, Stephen Pearce Hayes married to Georgia Ratcliff Hayes; brother, Henry Moore Rogers III married to Martha Smith Rogers; niece, Elizabeth Rogers Johnson married to Matt and their two children Charlotte Lane Johnson and Wyatt Clark Johnson; and niece, Sarah Kavanaugh Segars married to Mac and their child Rhea Quinn Segars.
A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Church Oceanfront, 401 35th Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23451, on Saturday, March 23 at 2pm.
