Robert Henry Jensen, 74, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2017, at his home in Marana, AZ, following a recent injury. A loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Mary Ellen (Hill) Jensen; children, Julie A. Studenicka, Jean E. Slayback; son in-law, Todd Studenicka; and grandchildren, Catelyn, Sheldon, Troy and Jenna. Known as “Hey, Bob” to many friends, he was born in Oakland, CA to parents, Frank and Maybelle (Murray) Jensen, and lived in Dublin, CA, before relocating to Marana, AZ in 2014. Robert met Mary Ellen in Oakland, courting her for two years, before marriage in June of 1966. He led a life of service as an Eagle Scout and Airman Third Class in the U.S. Air Force. He attended San Francisco State College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in 1967 and a diploma signed by former Governor Ronald Reagan. He pursued an award-winning, distinguished career at Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc., as a field service engineer. A man of many interests and hobbies, Robert had an endless list of projects, which he completed with an organized inventory of skill saws, to nuts and bolts, that rivaled any hardware store. He was an avid ham radio operator (KK6GN) for over twenty-five years, gardener, boater and collector of Vaseline glass. Robert will be remembered and missed for his sense of humor, heartfelt helping hand, ingenious solutions to “fix” or build anything and a fearless ability to speak his mind. A private family memorial service was held in Marana in celebration of Robert’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
